From 2 to 6 June 2025, the city of Geneva, Switzerland, will host the 8th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, organised by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

Under the motto “Each day counts, act for resilience today”, this edition invites all individuals, organisations and communities to join forces to accelerate the implementation of the Sendai Framework (2015-2030), and to strengthen their commitment to safer and more sustainable development.

The event aims to assess the progress made since the adoption of the UN General Assembly Political Declaration in May 2023 and to launch practical guidance to drive disaster risk reduction globally.

The programme will feature several sessions – plenary, thematic and others, including sessions focusing on young people and people with disabilities – open to all those committed to building more resilient societies. There will also be a significant number of online sessions, ensuring participation is possible from anywhere in the world. Participation is free, but registration is required by 2 May.
