Since 2010, a 24 October, the Municipal Day for Equality. To this end, some bodies of the Central State Administration, Municipalities and Associations representing civil society, from mainland Portugal and the Islands, stimulate activities that contribute to Local Citizenship, focusing on: Equality as a factor for development.

From 17 to 31 October, the Municipal Equality Day 2025 will be marked through an agenda of initiatives related to Women's Rights, Domestic Violence, Inclusion and Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Disability, Migrant Reception, Equal Pay, Combating Poverty and Equal Opportunities.

Until October 14, the organizing committee of this initiative, which the INR, I.P., integrates, invites NGOsPD, civil society organizations, groupings of schools, municipalities and other entities of the territory, the register their initiatives, running from 17 to 31 October, in this Agenda.

On September 24, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the INR, I.P., will participate in an Clarification Session, where the following topics will be addressed:

• Living in equality, without hate speech and with a life free from violence (IGC);
• For a life free from violence against women with disabilities, and their threat, in the full realization of human rights (INR, I.P.)
• Equality and dignity at work, parenthood and reconciliation policies (ISCED)
• How can I participate and put initiatives on the Municipal Day agenda? (ANIMAR)
