For the first time in our history, Christ the King in Almada will be illuminated in honor of the Deaf Community September is a month of great significance:

20 September – enshrinement of the Portuguese Sign Language in the Constitution of the Republic (1997) 23 September - International Day of Sign Languages 24 September – National Day of the Deaf 26 September – European Day of Languages 28 September - World Day of the Deaf

AFAS – Association of Families and Friends of the Deaf proudly celebrates these historical and cultural dates, recognising the dignity, identity and language of the Deaf Community.
