Lançado guia para abordar a Violência de Género contra Meninas e Mulheres com Deficiência

As part of the IX Week of Ibero-American Cooperation, the Ibero-American General Secretariat, the Ibero-American Initiative to Prevent and Eliminate Violence against Women and the Ibero-American Program on Disability (PID) presented last October 23 the Guide to Addressing Gender-Based Violence Against Girls and Women with Disabilities.
The event had the special participation of singer and Ibero-American Ambassador Rozalén and journalist Inés Rodríguez. In addition, the following participated:
• Carmen Martínez Perza, President of the Ibero-American Initiative to Prevent and Eliminate Violence against Women.
• Jesús Martín Blanco, President of the Ibero-American Disability Programme.
• Sandra Claros, beneficiary of the Women in ON-VG Mode Initiative.
Natalia Guala gave a brief presentation of the Guide to resources, actions and instruments to combat gender-based violence against girls and women with disabilities, a tool that aims to strengthen public policies, improve the institutional response and promote real equality for all women and girls, which was developed over the last year with government representatives from the areas of disability and gender-based violence, as well as with civil society organisations and international organisations.
The closing of the event was attended by Rozalén, who performed two songs.
The event had interpretation in sign language (Libras - Brazilian).
