Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries
The Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) is the privileged multilateral forum for deepening mutual friendship and cooperation between its members. Created on July 17, 1996, composed of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste, the CPLP enjoys legal personality and is endowed with financial autonomy. The general objectives of the CPLP are political concertation and cooperation in the social, cultural and economic fields. Through this Community, the representatives of the Member States of the CPLP to examine the adoption of possible cooperation actions in the multilateral framework and to promote the human rights of persons with disabilities.
