THE FOUR DEADS OF NAPOLEON
Updated: 23/03/2026
On 5 May 1821, Napoleon Bonaparte uttered his final words: “France, the army, head of the army, Josephine.”
The former emperor lies dead on his bed on St. Helena Island and four rumors are born about the cause of his death: an ordered strangulation, a purposeful poisoning, a natural death or even an honorable suicide; but the rumors about his last acts are a mystery with four different endings that only one human being has seen, his faithful maid.
