Today we mark the Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) – a day that reminds us that accessibility is not a favour, it is a fundamental human right.

Ensuring accessibility means ensuring participation, autonomy, equality and dignity for all persons with disabilities. Whether in the physical space, in the digital environment, in communication and information, a truly inclusive society only exists when everyone can fully exercise their rights.

There are still many barriers that exclude millions of people every day. For this reason, this day is also an invitation to reflection and action: Making services, content, technologies and spaces accessible must be a collective and permanent commitment.

Inclusion begins when accessibility ceases to be an exception and becomes a priority.

In this GAAD, we reinforce the importance of listening to people with disabilities, promoting active participation and building a fairer, more accessible and barrier-free future for all people.
