October 8 - World Vision Day
Updated : 07/10/2020
Celebrated annually on the second Thursday of October, World Sight Day aims to draw attention to the importance of Sight.
The sense of sight has a high personal significance, representing a fundamental means of communication for quality of life and social interaction.
However, eye and visual system diseases are extremely frequent in the population, and the progressive aging of the Portuguese population is one of the factors that contributes most to this situation.
From birth, it is imperative to prevent and treat visual diseases early.
Prevention and ophthalmological follow-up are crucial to maintain eye health and discover any visual changes early and treat them properly.
On this World Vision Day, we will find the solutions to ensure that everyone, everywhere, has access to vision.
We will strive to spread the message of #HopeInSight.
