O International Day of Imperfect Osteogenesis (OI) is celebrated annually on May 6 and aims to disseminate, clarify myths about how to live with the disease and awaken consciences to improve the lives of people who have it.

On this day, communities around the world come together to spread Osteogenesis Imperfeita, a rare disease of genetic origin that causes great bone fragility, and is therefore also known as the ‘glass bone disease’.

To mark this day, everyone is invited to participate with several suggestions:

  • Wearing yellow on May 6th
  • Wear a yellow flower on your hair or a yellow tie
  • Challenge your skills and celebrate the fact that you are CAPABLE!
  • Support and participate in your Association's initiatives
  • Promote IO Day through your school or social media
