POLYBAT is a sport based on Table Tennis. It appeared in England in the mid-1980s. It was created by a Physical Education Teacher and by university students of the Adapted Sports chair. It can be played individually or in pairs.

As part of the “Polybat Challenge” project, the Portuguese Federation of Sport for Persons with Disabilities (FPDD) will hold a Polybat “Jogos Santa Casa” Tournament in the city of Viseu on 22 June. The competition will take place at the Emídio Navarro Secondary School in the city and has the partnership of the Invictus Viseu Association.

The main objective of the tournaments is to develop Polybat nationally, promoting this practice to people with disabilities and also providing a moment of learning and knowledge to all coaches, coaches, sports escorts, among others.

In parallel, the FPDD will also promote a training of Polybat referees distributed over two days. One, online, more comprehensive on June 21, and the next day, the training will have the practical component in person during the tournament.

Registration for the tournament and for the training of referees are completely free.

To hold this event, all guidelines issued by the DGS for the safety of all participants will be complied with.
