Updated : 30/06/2021
The monthly activity of the Independent Life Support Centers (CAVI), which are part of the pilot project of the Independent Life Support Model (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.
According to these monitorings, in May 2021, in the 35 projects in operation, 899 people were supported, of which 400 in the Norte Region, 177 in the Centro Region, 109 in the Alentejo Region (686 people supported in the POISE territory), 38 in the Algarve Region and 175 in the Lisbon Region.
Of the 899 people supported, 458 are female and 441 are male, aged between 17 and 93 (Table 4), with an average age of 45.
From the start of the project until 31 May 2021, a total of 1,466,846 (one million, four hundred and sixty-six thousand, eight hundred and forty-six) hours were provided, of which 1,102,251 (one million, one hundred and two thousand, two hundred and fifty-one) hours were provided in the territory covered by POISE, 133,318 (one hundred and thirty-three thousand, three hundred and eighteen) hours in the Algarve Region and 231,277 (two hundred and thirty-one thousand, two hundred and seventy-seven) hours in the Lisbon Region.
In May, the number of active PIAPs (899) exceeded the highest value reached since the start of the project, of 894 active PIAPs, recorded in April, and this increase may be related to the deconfinement plan, which began on 15 March.
