Awareness-raising webinar "Promoting accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities for disaster risk reduction"
Updated : 10/05/2022
Within the framework of the activities of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, more specifically from its Working Group on “Inclusive Governance for Risk Reduction”, the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR) promoted in close coordination an Awareness Webinar on “Promoting accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities for disaster risk reduction”.
This event, which took place on 9 May, contributes to the purposes of Operational Objective 1.1.9 of the National Strategy for Preventive Civil Protection 2030, which aims, inter alia, to promote actions for specific, more vulnerable publics, with a view to developing and implementing measures to improve knowledge or reduce disaster risk.
The Webinar aimed to familiarize the technical staff and leaders of ANEPC for the integration of the lens of inclusion and accessibility in the product of their work in favor of the population with disabilities, considering their greater vulnerability in a disaster situation and the disproportionate impact to which they are subjected in these contexts, compared to the rest of the population, as is commonly known.
