International Day of Persons with Disabilities - Theme 2022

The celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December aims to promote understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of integrating people with disabilities into all aspects of political, social, economic and cultural life. Each year a theme is chosen, to be addressed on the day of commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, to be held at the Headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York, and for the year 2022 the following theme has been decided: “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in promoting an accessible and equitable world”. On this day, the National Institute for Rehabilitation and the Office of the Secretary of State for Inclusion will hold an event to commemorate this important date, hosted by the Municipality of Gondomar.
