O United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction recently published two documents on the subject of persons with disabilities at risk of disasters.

Persons with disabilities in situations of risk: A scoping study on Article 11 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which you can consult at this link, provides insights into how strengthening the relationship between disaster risk reduction and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) can strengthen efforts to improve the protection of persons with disabilities at risk of disasters.

The self-assessment tool Annex for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, which you can consult here, is a complementary tool to the City Scorecard, which you can consult here, and supports local authorities in designing and implementing policies for the inclusion of people with disabilities in disaster risk reduction, as they are an integral part of the development of such strategies, which aim to make cities more resilient and inclusive in the face of disaster risk.

This tool includes specific criteria for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in each of the “Ten Principles on Making Cities Resilient”.
