Updated: 17/07/2019
On 28 June and 12 July 2019, the National Institute for Rehabilitation carried out, in collaboration with the Union of Alternative Women and Response (UMAR) and the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV), the awareness-raising action ‘Domestic Violence and the Deaf’.
This action was aimed at young deaf adults with high participation and diverse issues that led to the organization of a second session, 2 weeks after the first, with the participation of APAV.
This was the second awareness-raising action promoted by the National Institute for Rehabilitation on domestic violence and deaf people, with a view to improving prevention and identifying information on emergency lines and support services for victims of domestic violence, based on identified needs.
Next September the INR, I.P. will promote a new action to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence that will target blind people. Consult more information on this action.
