MAVI Monthly Report – April 2020

Updated : 12/06/2020

The monthly activity of the Support Centres for Independent Living (CAVI) as part of the pilot project of the Support Model for Independent Living (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.

According to these monitorings, one institution started providing personal assistance during April 2020, which means that currently, of the 35 approved applications, all are already operational.

Since the state of emergency was maintained throughout April, as was the case in March, this month was quite atypical in terms of the operation of the CAVIs, and this situation was reflected in the data presented.

508 people were supported, of which 229 in the North Region, 109 in the Centre Region, 67 in the Alentejo Region (405 people supported in the POISE territory), 27 in the Algarve Region and 76 in the Lisbon Region.

Of the 508 people supported, 247 are female and 261 are male.

Individuals aged between 16 and 97 were supported, with an average age of 46.

From the start of the project until 30 April 2020, 610,496 (six hundred and ten thousand four hundred and ninety-six) hours were worked, of which 483,263 (four hundred and eighty-three thousand two hundred and sixty-three) hours were worked in the territory covered by the POISE, 66 757 (sixty-six thousand seven hundred and fifty-seven) hours in the Algarve Region and 60 476 (sixty thousand four hundred and seventy-six) hours in the Lisbon Region.
