Award Ceremony for the Social Sciences and Humanities Prize 2023

On July 11, at 3 p.m., the award ceremony for the Social Sciences and Humanities Prize will take place at the CITEFORMA Auditorium, located at Avenida Marquês de Tomar, 91, Lisbon.

This award, created in 1995, annually distinguishes academic works developed by students of Higher Education, public or private, that contribute to the production of scientific knowledge about disability and inclusion.

The ceremony will be attended by the Secretary of State for Social Action and Inclusion, Clara Marques Mendes (tbc), as well as representatives of the National Institute for Rehabilitation I.P., Rodrigo Ramos and Marina Van Zeller. During the event, the prize and two honourable mentions will be presented for the 2023 edition. The distinguished works are authored by:

- Inês Pereira Lopes, from the University of Beira Interior, winner of the prize with the master's thesis "Children's furniture for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders";

- Joana Isabel Taveira Ferreira Neto, from the New University of Lisbon, with the 1st Honorable Mention, through the doctoral thesis "Reasonable adaptation of the job and job protection in illness and disability";

- Sérgio Duarte Costa Oliveira, University of Aveiro, with the 2nd Honourable Mention, through the master's thesis "Serious virtual reality game for the rehabilitation of stroke at home".

This ceremony is a celebration of the development of scientific knowledge for the quality of life and inclusion of people with disabilities.
