The INR has 2 nuclei to monitor, study and solve issues within the scope of Braille and Complementary Means of Reading and Sign Language.

Core for Braille and Complementary Means of Reading

The Core for Braille and Complementary Means of Reading aims to:

1. Ensure high quality standards in the design, use, application, production and teaching modalities of the Braille system and complementary means of reading for blind or partially sighted people;
2. Evaluate and control the braille system and complementary means of reading.

Center for Portuguese Sign Language

The core mission of the Portuguese Sign Language Centre is to monitor, study and resolve the issues raised in the context of the PML.
