INR signs Collaboration Protocol with the Municipality of Mira for the Implementation of the Inclusion Desk

On January 13, the National Institute for Rehabilitation (INR) signed the cooperation protocol with the Municipality of Mira to implement the Inclusion Counter (BI). The signing ceremony took place in the INR Auditorium and was attended by Artur Fresco, Mayor of Mira, Bruno Alcaide, Municipal Councillor of Mira, Sónia Esperto, President of INR, Marina Van Zeller, Vice-President of INR, Eduarda Saraiva, Head of Division of UCGP - Unit for Coordination and Management of Partnerships, as well as other heads of Organic Unit. The INR BI team and other workers were also present.
The presentation of the event was conducted by Eduarda Saraiva of UCGP, unit responsible for the BI area. After the signing of the protocol, both presidents took the opportunity to share brief words. The President of the INR, Sónia Esperto, thanked everyone for their presence and highlighted the role of IBs, mentioning that with the signature with the Municipality of Mira, there were 134 Inclusion Counters in Municipalities throughout the country. The President of CM, Artur Fresco, also thanked, highlighting the importance of partnerships and the Municipality's commitment to inclusion.
The ceremony ended with a visit to the exhibition ‘Braille – Points illuminating worlds’, promoted by the INR. It was an honor for the INR to have received the Municipality of Mira, the ninth Municipality of the District of Coimbra to implement a Balcão da Inclusion.
The mission of the Inclusion Desk is to provide information and specialized mediation accessible to people with disabilities and/or disabilities, as well as their families, organizations and other actors in the area of disability. The Inclusion Desk is a key resource for promoting equality and accessibility, ensuring that everyone has access to the necessary information and support.
