The AFID Diferença Foundation announces that applications are open until February 28 for the first edition of the Dr. João Gomes Esteves Plastic Arts Award, an initiative that aims to value and encourage the artistic practice of authors with intellectual disabilities.

The competition welcomes works in Painting and Ceramics by authors from the age of 16, individually or collectively, on their own initiative or through an institution that represents them.

The exhibition of the selected works will take place in Lisbon during the month of April.

A jury, made up of relevant figures from the context of the Fine Arts in Portugal, will award a 1st prize, worth €2000, and an honorable mention, worth €500, to works from each of the two categories (Painting and Ceramics).
