A conference on Raising awareness of the potential of persons with disabilities in various areas of social life and professional activities took place on 28 March 2025 at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, in the context of the Disability platform where this Public Institute is the national representative.

It was a side event to the annual meeting of the Disability platform that took place the day before. The Conference was co-organised by the European Commission and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU).

The event addressed relevant issues related to: raising awareness of the professional potential of persons with disabilities and their contribution in the workplace and the labour market; raising public awareness of the social potential of persons with disabilities by promoting a fair image of persons with disabilities on television, radio, the press and social media; and (c) Promoting independent living and integration of persons with disabilities and improving independent living support services in EU Member States.

The event was attended by speakers such as: Hadja Lahbib, Commissioner for Equality, Crisis Preparedness and Management, European Commission, Li Andersson, Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, European Parliament, and Łukasz Krasoń, Plenipotentiary of the Polish Government for Persons with Disabilities.
