Meeting "Inclusive Pedagogical Practices"

During the afternoon of 2 June, Casa Pia de Lisboa and the National Institute for Rehabilitation organised the ‘Inclusive Pedagogical Practices’ meeting at Palácio Galveias in Lisbon. This Meeting aimed to promote a greater awareness of the importance of inclusive pedagogical practices, aimed at all people, that consider the different dimensions of inclusion.
The initiative took place simultaneously in the José Saramago Room, at a moment of lecture aimed at professionals and other interested people, and in the gardens with several initiatives of experimentation of inclusive practices, counting on the musical performance of the Novos RitmoS, a group made up of deaf children and young people and listeners of the Jacob Rodrigues Pereira Education and Development Center.
The opening session was attended by Fernanda Bandeira, Coordinator of the Palácio Galveias Library, Fátima Matos, President of the Board of Directors of Casa Pia de Lisboa and Sónia Esperto, President of the Board of Directors of the National Institute for Rehabilitation. At a later moment, David Rodrigues, Professor of Special Education and Counselor of the National Council of Education, shared some challenges and paths of inclusion in the educational context. Mariana Bártolo (Médica Deaf) and Reza Rezaie (Educando da Casa Pia de Lisboa) shared life experiences, with the moderation of journalist Sandra Henriques, from Antena 1. The projects ‘Abraçar o Vento’ and ‘CRIA’, from Casa Pia de Lisboa, were also presented. The Secretary of State for Social Action and Inclusion, Clara Marques Mendes, closed the Meeting and reinforced the commitment to social inclusion for all people.
At the same time, the garden of the Palácio Galveias Library was the scene of inclusive activities, with sensory stations, games, practical workshops such as Atelier Barro na Mão, multiformat books and dissemination of the Sports + Accessible Award of INR.
