Local elections – 12 October 2025

On October 12th, the 2025 local elections will be held.
In order to promote the right to vote for persons with disabilities, two easy-to-read leaflets were prepared, as well as a video raising awareness of the participation of citizens with disabilities in elections. This video is available with Portuguese sign language interpretation and reading it aloud. These tools are disseminated with accessibility through QR Code.
Questions and answers on who can stand as a candidate/candidate, who can stand as a candidate, what is considered a political party, parties or coalitions of parties running for municipal elections 2025, what is the electoral campaign, how to vote, among other information related to the participation of persons with disabilities in political life can be found in the leaflet on the municipal elections 2025.
In the second leaflet you can find information on the way and means available to exercise the right to vote in the municipal elections 2025, such as the importance or contact details in case of doubts.
These leaflets and the video are the result of the joint work of the National Institute for Rehabilitation, the National Election Commission (CNE) and several Non-Governmental Organizations of Persons with Disabilities.
