Updated : 21/10/2025
The National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR) attended the ‘Reading Without Borders’ International Inclusion Seminar, part of the Óbidos International Literary Festival - FÓLIO 2025, on 16 October, at the Casa da Música Municipal Auditorium. During the event was presented the publication Between Symbols, Sounds, Textures and Images: A Guide for Children's Books Multiformat, which results from the Portuguese-Brazilian partnership, between Célia Sousa, Coordinator of the Resource Center for Digital Inclusion - CRID, of the Polytechnic of Leiria and Miryam Pelosi, Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
The guide arises from the need to provide practical guidance for the design of multi-format media that combine text, image, sound and texture. This guide is available for consultation and loan at the INR Library, which invites you to learn about this essential tool for promoting inclusive reading. See the guide here.
Also as part of the INR’s presence at Fólio Educa, its Library was offered the multi-format book ‘Jean e a Festa entre Culturas’ by Eduardo Cardoso, Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. The work celebrates cultural diversity and is adapted to various accessible formats, promoting inclusive reading for children of different backgrounds and abilities.
