On 13 February, the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR) was present at the celebrations of the 37th anniversary of ASSOL – Associação de Solidariedade Social de Lafões, at the Cine Teatro Dr. Morgado, in Oliveira de Frades. This occasion was also part of the launch of the book ‘Continuing to Move Forward’ by Dr Mário Pereira, who served as Executive Director of ASSOL for 34 years. This work seeks to be a testimony of the course, values and practices that have marked the intervention of the Institution over time.
The participation of the INR, IP at this symbolic moment reflects the relationship of solid and continuous cooperation that has been developed between the two entities, based on the sharing of knowledge, the promotion of innovative practices and the defense of the rights of persons with disabilities. This partnership has helped to bring people closer to the realities on the ground and to strengthen public policies in the field of inclusion.
The launch of Dr. Mário Pereira's work was also a space for reflection and inspiration, highlighting experiences, challenges and learning that cross ASSOL's work with the principles that guide INR's mission.
The institutional presence at this event reaffirms the joint commitment to a more inclusive society, centered on the person and respect for diversity.
At the end of the session, ASSOL offered the INR Library a copy of the book.
