Social Inclusion Benefit extended to children and young people with disabilities

Updated : 23/08/2019

The Government approved, yesterday, August 22, in the Council of Ministers, the extension of the Social Benefit for Inclusion (PSI), to children and young people with disabilities with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 60%.

This extension consists in the allocation of a lump sum, corresponding to 50% of the reference value of the basic component, approximately EUR 136, regardless of the family's economic resources. Where the child/young person lives in a single-parent household, the amount awarded is increased by 35%.

With the introduction of this change, the PSI, created in October 2017 and which has already benefited more than 95,500 citizens, will support people with disabilities throughout their lives.
