Portuguese Judo secures presence at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

The International Federation of Blind Sports (IBSA) has confirmed the allocation of a quota for Portugal in the Judo modality for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The vacancy won through the ranking position of judoka Djibrilo Iafa, in - 73kg of class B1, the first ensured by Portugal in the modality for the 2021 edition of the largest sports competition for people with disabilities. The athlete, who represents the Judo Total Club, won seventh place in the Grand Prix of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, a few weeks ago.
With this good news, the guaranteed quotas at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games rise to 31: ten in Athletics, ten in Boccia, five in Swimming, two in Canoeing, two in Cycling, one in Equestrian and one in Judo.
It should be noted that the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will take place from 24 August to 5 September in the Japanese capital.
