Through an accessibility project, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa supports the D. Maria II National Theatre, aiming to make it accessible and with an inclusive cultural offer. This project contains accessibility for people with restricted mobility and cultural sessions for blind, deaf and autistic people, among other people with special needs, thus making the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II a theatre for all.

Several sessions with audio description and interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language are planned. "Relaxed Sessions" are also offered, through a more welcoming and tolerant space in relation to movement and noise in the audience. The sessions are aimed at families with people with attention deficits, intellectual disabilities, or sensory, social or communication disabilities.

The Theatre offers blind people meetings of space recognition and tactile approach to scenography and costumes, as well as the presentation of the actors.
