On 3 February, Council of Ministers Resolution No 12-A/2023 was published in the Portuguese Official Gazette, extending until 31 December 2026 the mandate of the Mission Structure for the Promotion of Accessibility created by Council of Ministers Resolution No 4/2020 of 5 February 2020.

In addition, the following new objectives are attributed by this diploma to the Structure:

• cooperation with the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. for the implementation, monitoring and supervision of the investments of the RRP – Recovery and Resilience Programme ‘RE-C03-i02: 360o accessibility’, focusing on the creation of accessibility and accessible pathways in the homes of people with disabilities, on public roads and in public services and ‘RE-C03-i05: Platform + Access’, which provides, alongside constant technological and digital developments, for the provision of technological services aimed at mitigating the difficulties of persons with physical, sensory, cognitive or communicational disabilities in their daily lives, to be implemented by the end of 2026;
• ensure the proper continuation of the Government's programme in the area of accessibility, in particular as regards the development of a system for certifying the accessibility conditions of public spaces and public and private buildings, as well as the necessary reformulation of legislation and technical standards in force in this area.
