2022 Beach + Accessible Award Ceremony

The National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR), the Portuguese Environment Agency, I.P. (APA) and Turismo de Portugal, I.P. (TP), inform that they will be present at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL), to deliver the "Praia + Accessible" Award 2022, in Lisbon. March 3rd, at 5:30 p.m., at the Lisbon International Fair, Pavilion 1, No stand Tourism of Porto and Northern Portugal. This session is attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Nuno Fazenda, Secretary of State for Inclusion, Anna Sofia Antunesby the President of the Board of Directors of the INR, Rodrigo Ramos, and the members of the National Jury of the “Praia + Acessível” Award. The INR, APA and TP award annually the prize of “Accessible Beach – Beach for All!” programme Portuguese bathing areas that ensure conditions of accessibility, safety, comfort, autonomy and independence for people with restricted mobility, thus providing them with a fair and dignified enjoyment of these leisure spaces. In addition, obtaining this award is synonymous with environmental quality and bathing safety, standing out in the positive differentiation of Portuguese beaches, one of the most important resources of demand by national and international tourists. The Award Ceremony of Praia + Acessível 2022 aims to formalize the distinction of national, coastal or inland beaches, which having been awarded in 2022 with the award Praia Acessível, showed the best conditions of accessibility, thus constituting as national reference practices, for the quality of the use of their offer of services and well-being that they provided to people with restricted mobility.
