Updated : 23/05/2023

Meetings: Accessibility, challenges and opportunities.

The Mission Structure for the Promotion of Accessibility (EMPA) and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR) intend to initiate a cycle of initiatives with which they intend to create synergies within the scope of the Legal Regime of Accessibility, more specifically, the application of the Technical Standards of Accessibility (NTA).

The initiatives aim to listen to the entities: NGOPD, Public Administration (Central and Local) and Technicians from the private sector, namely Professional Associations representing the construction sector.

The main objective of these meetings is to compile information on opportunities for improvement and promote collaborative networks to clarify technical issues. It is the conviction of EMPA and INR that the sharing of experiences and knowledge, will drive new dynamics promoting best practices of accessibility.

The 1st Meeting will take place on May 25th and 26th and will be attended by the technical teams that intervene in the public space, the Porto City Council and the Lisbon City Council.

For 2 consecutive days, teams will have the opportunity to share ongoing work, experiences and concerns. The event will be attended by ACAPO – Associação dos Bégos e Amblíopes de Portugal (Association of the Blind and Amblyopic People of Portugal) and will include field visits.
