MAVI MONTHLY REPORT – MAY 2023

The monthly activity of the Independent Life Support Centers (CAVI), which are part of the pilot project of the Independent Life Support Model (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.
According to these monitorings, in May 2023, in the 35 projects in operation, 1053 people were supported, of which 465 in the North Region, 205 in the Centre Region, 136 in the Alentejo Region (806 supported in these 3 regions, of which 656 under POISE and 150 under ISS), 42 in the Algarve Region and 205 in the Lisbon Region.
From the beginning of the project until 31 May 2023, a total of 3 877 528 (three million, eight hundred and seventy-seven thousand, five hundred and twenty-eight) hours were provided, of which 1 826 729 (one million, eight hundred and twenty-six thousand, seven hundred and twenty-nine) in the Northern Region, 647 977 (six hundred and forty-seven thousand, nine hundred and seventy-seven) in the Central Region, 502 322 (five hundred and two thousand, three hundred and twenty-two) in the Alentejo Region, 2 915 295 229 (two million, nine hundred and fifteen thousand, two hundred and ninety-eight) hours were provided under POISE, and 61 799 (sixty-one thousand, seven hundred and ninety-nine) under the ISS, 264 993 (two hundred and sixty-four thousand, nine hundred and ninety-three three) hours in the Region of Lisbon and 635 507 (six hundred and five hundred and five hundred and seven hundred) hours in the Region of Lisbon.
In sum, during the month of May 2023, the number of active PIAPs decreased as well as the number of employed and in-service personal assistants. The number of contract and non-employment personal assistants remained the same as in the previous month. The number of newly concluded PIAPs increased and the number of suspended and terminated PIAPs decreased compared to the figures submitted in the previous month.
