MAVI Monthly Report - JUNE 2023

The monthly activity of the Independent Life Support Centers (CAVI), which are part of the pilot project of the Independent Life Support Model (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.
According to these monitorings, in June 2023, in the 35 projects in operation, 1050 people were supported, of which 470 in the North Region, 205 in the Centre Region, 129 in the Alentejo Region (804 supported in these 3 regions, of which 630 under POISE and 174 under ISS), 41 in the Algarve Region (of which 20 under CRESC Algarve and 21 under ISS) and 205 in the Lisbon Region.
From the beginning of the project until 30 June 2023, a total of 3,960,222 (three million, nine hundred and sixty thousand, two hundred and twenty-two) hours were provided, of which 1,858,589 (one million, eight hundred and fifty-eight thousand, five hundred and eighty-nine) in the Northern Region, 663,566 (six hundred and sixty-three thousand, five hundred and sixty-six) in the Central Region, 513,142 (five hundred and thirteen thousand, one hundred and forty-two) in the Alentejo Region, of which 2,968,917 two million, nine hundred and sixty-eight thousand, nine hundred and seventeen) hours were provided under POISE, and 66,379 (sixty-six thousand, three hundred and seventy-nine) under the ISS, 270 838 (two hundred and seventy thousand, eight hundred and thirty-eight) hours in the Algarve Region, of which 260 562 (two hundred and sixty thousand, five hundred and sixty-two) hours were worked in the CRESC Algarve, and 10 276 (ten thousand, two hundred and seventy-six) hours in the ISS) and 654 087 (six hundred and fifty-four thousand, eighty-seven) hours in the Lisbon Region.
In sum, during the month of June 2023, the number of active PIAPs decreased, although the number of employed and in-service personal assistants increased. The number of contract and non-employment personal assistants increased compared to the previous month. The number of newly concluded PIAPs remained and the number of suspended and terminated PIAPs increased compared to the figures submitted in the previous month.
