MAVI Monthly Report - JULY 2023

The monthly activity of the Independent Life Support Centers (CAVI), which are part of the pilot project of the Independent Life Support Model (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.
According to these monitorings, in July 2023, out of the 35 projects in operation, 1042 people were supported, of which 907 were funded by the ISS and 135 by POR LISBON.
From the start of the project until 31 July 2023, a total of 3,577,773 (three million, five hundred and seventy-seven thousand, seven hundred and seventy-three) hours were provided, of which 153,181 (one hundred and fifty-three thousand, one hundred and eighty-one) under POR LISBON and 662,866 (six hundred and sixty-two thousand eight hundred and sixty-six) under ISS, accumulated to 2,761,726 (two million, seven hundred and sixty-one thousand, seven hundred and twenty-six) hours of personal assistance provided under ESF by 30 June 2023.
In sum, during the month of July 2023, the number of active PIAPs decreased as well as the number of employed and in-service personal assistants. The number of contract and non-employment personal assistants increased compared to the previous month. The number of newly concluded PIAPs and the number of terminated PIAPs decreased, but the number of suspended PIAPs increased, compared to the figures presented in the previous month.
