Implementation of the Non-Discrimination Law - Report 2022
Updated : 19/10/2023
Law No 46/2006 of 28 August 2006 aims not only to prevent and prohibit discrimination, direct or indirect, on the grounds of disability and the existence of an aggravated health risk in all its forms, but also to punish the practice of acts that result in the violation of fundamental rights or the refusal or conditioning of any other rights, on the same grounds.
In compliance with the provisions of this Law, the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., receives the complaints submitted, forwards them to the administrative bodies with inspection and/or sanctioning powers and draws up an annual report on the application of Law No 46/2006.
It is thus published the Report for the year 2022, which gathers data on complaints of discrimination on the grounds of disability and aggravated health risk submitted throughout 2022. These complaints were sent either to the INR or to bodies with inspection or sanctioning powers, whose duties relate to the subject of the complaint in question.
This report seeks to reflect the exercise of the application of the Law, by compiling the quantitative data collected under the legal terms, regarding the practice of discriminatory acts and any sanctions applied.
