MAVI Monthly Report - SEPTEMBER 2023

The monthly activity of the Independent Life Support Centers (CAVI), which are part of the pilot project of the Independent Life Support Model (MAVI), is reported to the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., based on the completion of the monitoring grids by each of the institutions.
According to these monitorings, in September 2023, out of the 35 projects in operation, 1042 people were supported, of which 911 were funded by the ISS and 131 by POR LISBON.
From the start of the project until 30 September 2023, a total of 3,735,337 (three million, seven hundred and thirty-five thousand, three hundred and thirty-seven) hours were provided, of which 294,732 (two hundred and ninety-four thousand, seven hundred and thirty-two) under the ISS and 678,878 (six hundred and seventy-eight thousand, eight hundred and seventy-eight) under the POR LISBON, accumulated to 2,761,726 (two million, seven hundred and sixty-one thousand, seven hundred and twenty-six) hours of personal assistance provided under the ESF by 30 June 2023.
In sum, during the month of September 2023, the number of active PIAPs increased, as did the number of new and completed PIAPs. The number of suspended PIAPs decreased significantly compared to the previous month.
The number of contract personal assistants and the number of personal assistants providing support has increased.
