Applications are now open for another edition of the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award, an initiative promoted by the European Commission.

This award has as objective Recognize, give visibility and highlight the best practices of a city or regionThey can inspire other European cities to create more diverse and inclusive environments for their citizens. This recognition will be made in 2 distinct categories:

• municipalities with fewer than 50 000 inhabitants;
• Localities with more than 50 000 inhabitants.

In 2024, a specific prize will also be awarded to local authorities that promote safe cities and regions for women in all their diversity, tackling violence against women.

Applications must be submitted by 15 February at 11.00 (Lisbon)/ 12.00 (CET). The results of the applications will be known during the month of April, and the Award ceremony will take place on 25 April 2024, at the opening event of the European Diversity Month.
