Good practices in Loulé - “A morning to reflect on inclusion”
Updated : 29/02/2024
On February 23, the National Institute for Rehabilitation (INR) was present at the event “A morning to reflect on Inclusion”, promoted by the Inclusion Branch (BI) of Loulé, at the Municipal Library. The opening session was held by the Deputy Mayor of Loulé, David Pimentel and the President of the Board of Directors of the INR, Rodrigo Ramos.
The event featured two panels:
- Panel I: In this panel, disability rights activist Catarina Oliveira addressed the theme ‘Indignations of a Rare Species on Wheels’;
- Panel II: At the round table entitled ‘If I could change the world’, moderator Catarina Oliveira led the debate with several partners working in the area of disability, namely the Portuguese Association of Cerebral Palsy of Faro (APPC), Centre for Independent Living of Faro (CVI), Association for the Intervention and Rehabilitation of Disabled and Disadvantaged Populations (EXISTIR), Association of Mental Health of the Algarve (ASMAL) and Association of the Blind and partially sighted of Portugal of Faro (ACAPO).
The event was closed by BI Technique, Céline Luis, who expressed her thanks to all present.
In this initiative were invited the IDs of the District of Faro, having responded to the same IDs of Lagos, Faro and São Brás de Alportel. It is inspiring to see how the BI Network strengthens and contributes to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.
Loulé's ID is therefore to be congratulated on the initiative that aimed to foster reflection on inclusion, contributing to a more inclusive and accessible society.
