National Coordinating Entity for the Support Model for Independent Living (MAVI)

It was published today, April 16th, the Order No 4159/2024setting up the national coordinating body for the Model for Supporting Independent Living, as provided for in Article 30 of Ministerial Implementing Order No 415/2023 of 7 December 2023, as amended.
The coordinating body is composed of five elements: One member of the governing board of the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P. (INR, I.P.), who chairs, two representatives of the INR, I.P. and two representatives of the Social Security Institute, I.P. (ISS, I.P.).
It is the responsibility of the coordinating body to ensure the articulation of the actions developed under the MAVI, namely:
- Determine the holding of periodic evaluation and monitoring meetings with the Independent Life Support Centres in operation;
- Ensure the constitution and maintenance of the national multidisciplinary team, to support MAVI;
- monitoring, regulating and evaluating the functioning of MAVI;
- Define the criteria for collection, assessment tools and provision of relevant information under MAVI;
- Promote training and research under MAVI;
- preparing and publishing information, studies and reports under MAVI;
- Issue guidelines necessary for compliance with Ministerial Implementing Order No 415/2023 of 7 December 2023, as amended, and for the operation of MAVI.
The Order shall enter into force on the day following its publication and shall take effect on 1 January 2024.
