“The “Accessible Festivals” Programme is a partnership between Turismo de Portugal, I.P. and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, I.P., which, by Order No 2276/2025 of 19 February, had its regulation approved for the period 2025-2026.

This initiative distinguishes festivals that guarantee conditions of mobility, comfort, safety and autonomy for all audiences, including people with specific needs (motor, sensory, cognitive), pregnant women, children and seniors and covers events in the areas of street arts, performing arts, cinema, literature, dance, music and theatre

Events that meet the criteria set out in the Regulation are distinguished as "Accessible Festival" and can apply for the annual "Festival + Accessible" Award, which materialises in financial support aimed at improving the accessibility conditions of the next edition of the awarded festival.

Applications must be submitted by festival promoters no later than three months before the start of each festival, and documentation to this effect (Regulation, Application Form and Application Support Manual) is available on the websites of the National Institute for Rehabilitation and Tourism of Portugal.
