Center for Portuguese Sign Language

The Core for Portuguese Sign Language, created on the basis of Order No 15568/2013 of 28 November 2013, has as its core mission to monitor, study and resolve the issues raised in the context of Sign Language, also taking into account the recommendations issued by the competent national and international bodies.
The Portuguese Sign Language Center will operate within the National Institute for Rehabilitation and will have the following objectives:
- Ensure the achievement of high quality standards regarding the design, use, application, production methods and teaching of the Portuguese Sign Language;
- Promote the dissemination and teaching of Portuguese Sign Language.
