In the current bathing season, 234 beaches are awarded, of which 57 are river or lake bathing areas and 177 are maritime or transitional, corresponding respectively to a distribution of 25% and 75% of the total number of Accessible Beaches.

About 80% of the beaches provide an important added value: amphibian equipment for bathing and walking on the beach for people with restricted mobility, and most municipalities and concessionaires provide bathing assistance services.

Due to constraints in hiring lifeguards, some beaches that comply with the remaining requirements to obtain the award are inhibited from flying the flag, so they were not counted as accessible beaches. Thus, the list now presented will be updated whenever situations occur that justify the revision of the award.
